As the Director of Technology and Smart Cities at the Department for International Trade, Dylan leads a team of industry specialists and account managers responsible for attracting inward investment from international technology companies and promoting UK Tech exports in overseas markets. Dylan re-joined the public sector in Feb 2017 after almost ten years working in sales management and business development roles in the UK technology industry with a focus on ‘Safe and Smart cities’, for some of the world’s leading  technology companies such as SAS, Microsoft and Hitachi.

During his career in the private sector Dylan led on negotiations and won business with a diverse range of customers in Asia, Africa, and the Middle East as well as throughout Europe. Dylan started his career in the public sector 19 years ago as a parliamentary researcher for Dr Liam Fox MP at the House of Commons. Following that he served in the British Army as an Officer (Captain) in the Intelligence Corps including operational service in Afghanistan, Iraq and Northern Ireland.

Dylan has an honours degree in History from the University of Edinburgh. He is married with three children and lives in south Oxfordshire.
